Please be advised that false rumors are deliberately being spread in our community about CCSD and COVID-19 vaccinations.  CCSD is NOT holding ANY COVID-19 vaccination events for our students at our schools or elsewhere.  

CCSD School Nurse Honored by Governor with Georgia RISE Award CCSD Georgia RISE Award Winner 11 9 21

A Cherokee County School District school nurse has been honored by the Governor with the prestigious Georgia RISE (Recognizing Inspirational School Employees) Award!

Oak Grove Elementary School STEAM Academy School Nurse Nadia Jones is one of only two Georgians selected by Governor Brian P. Kemp for the award, which honors school support staff.

CCSD School Board Members and District leaders recently toured Oak Grove ES STEAM Academy to get an overview of how the school is blending STEM into its Fine Arts instruction.  Oak Grove ES is the District's first STEAM academy, adding a new component to the District's Academies program, which was founded in 2012. 

CCSD Announces Fourth Annual Support Staff Employees of the Year Awards CCSD Support Staff 11 8 21.

The Cherokee County School District next month will celebrate excellent service at its fourth annual Support Staff Employees of the Year Awards!

The recognition ceremony on December 2 will honor one Support Staff Employee of the Year from each of CCSD’s schools, centers and central office divisions.  Each honoree will be congratulated by the Superintendent of Schools and School Board members and receive a plaque and gifts of appreciation before an audience of honorees and their families, Principals and CCSD leaders.

CCSD Named Finalist for Governance Team of the Year Award CCSD 2021 Governance Team of the Year State Finalist 10 14 21

The Cherokee County School District has been named a finalist for the 2021 Governance Team of the Year Award presented by the Georgia School Boards Association!
Three awards are presented annually to recognize top School Boards and Superintendents of Schools for outstanding leadership and dedication to continuous improvement.  One winner is selected in three categories based on school district enrollment: small, 1-3,000 students; medium, 3,001-10,000 students; and large, 10,000+ students.
