All 23 CCSD elementary schools have full-day kindergarten. Online registration for the 2019-20 school year now is open here. Georgia Lottery Pre-K for 4-year-olds is offered at Ball Ground ES STEM Academy, Hasty ES Fine Arts Academy, Johnston ES Preschool, Oak Grove ES Fine Arts Academy and RM Moore ES. Click here for more information about the 2019-20 application process, which is from Feb. 4 to March 1, with the lottery drawing on March 6.
Space is limited and wait lists are common, but parents can search for available Lottery-funded Pre-K slots at private providers in their area at http://decal.ga.gov/ProviderSearch/PreK . The openings are updated in early September and then regularly throughout the year.
Ninth District Opportunity Head Start for eligible 4-year-olds is offered at Ralph Bunche Center in Canton.

Cherokee County School System Announces Child Find Efforts to Determine Eligibility for Special Education Services
Cherokee County School System offers comprehensive Special Education services to eligible students ages three through 21 years. Children from birth to age three with disabilities will be referred to appropriate agencies for services. All referrals are considered confidential, and services are provided at no cost. The parent, legal guardian, or surrogate parent retains the right to refuse services and is provided other procedural safeguards under federal and state law. Public school services include screening in the area of suspected disabilities, such as hearing, motor skills, speech, language and general development. Evaluations in the schools are provided for several areas of suspected disabilities, including learning disabilities, speech and language development, physical impairments, vision or hearing problems, mental retardation, emotional disturbances, autism/pervasive developmental disorders, health problems or traumatic brain injuries. A free, appropriate, public education with full continuum of services is available for all eligible children enrolled in the Cherokee County School System and for those students who are home schooled or enrolled in private schools and preschools, including religious schools.
