CCSD Leadership toured the ACTIVE Academies campus recently,  where two new programs were added for 2021-22 to give high school students additional flexibility and choices for their education.  i-Grad Virtual Academy and C3 Academy joined ACE Academy and Transition Academy on the campus this year, located on Knox Bridge Highway in Canton, greatly expanding the opportunities for high school students looking at alternatives to the traditional classroom or college/career path.

i-Grad Principal Andy Hall explains the unique qualities of the school; i-Grad has 40 students on track to graduate in May.

i-Grad Principal Andy Hall gave a tour to Superintendent Dr. Brian Hightower, School Board Chair Kyla Cromer and School Board Member Kelly Poole, as well as CCSD Division Chiefs.

i-Grad is CCSD's new full-time virtual school option, which allows motivated students to pursue a diploma with a mixture of digital and teacher-led instruction from the student’s desired location.   Students in grades 9-12 can apply for admission to the school, where they work largely from home but come to campus for specific assignments or activities, such as tests or labs; they also can come in for assistance with classes when needed.  The school opened with 8 teachers and 150 students, and is expected to grow from there.  For students interested in i-Grad, applications for second semester are being accepted through November 15.  For more information, see the i-Grad website at

Cherokee College and Career Academy, known as C3 Academy, launched its program with the Cybersecurity pathway.  Students travel to the ACTIVE campus for their courses and then return to their traditional school campus for the remainder of their schedule.  Instructor Dr. Brent Hollers splits his day between the ACTIVE campus and Sequoyah HS.
