Sequoyah High School DECA student marketing association members earned top honors at the 2019 DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando.

Rising junior Austyn Tressler, Class of 2019 graduate Tyler Price and rising sophomore Emily Duke all won the “Award of Excellence” for achieving all standards of performance at the international level.  Austyn earned this award in the Apparel & Accessories Marketing; Tyler was a top performer in the Professional Selling event; and Emily competed in the Principles of Hospitality & Tourism event.

This year’s international conference was the largest ever with 21,000 students competing.  The competitions, which students qualify for through success at statewide conferences, simulate real-life business scenarios and test students’ academic understanding and skills development.
