Clark Creek Elementary School STEM Academy has earned global recognition for its leadership in effectively using technology for teaching and learning!

The school has been selected by Microsoft as a 2018-19 Microsoft Showcase School in honor of its successful integration of educational technology in the classroom to benefit students and teachers.  Only 39 schools nationwide were selected as Showcase Schools!  Clark Creek ES STEM Academy is one of only three schools in Georgia named to the list… which again also includes Holly Springs Elementary School STEM Academy.

“Clark Creek Elementary School STEM Academy is a model for how teachers and staff can harness the power of technology to advance student learning and equip them with real-world knowledge,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said.  “Outstanding teachers will never be replaced by technology, but we want all of our teachers to master these resources for the benefit of their students.”

As a Showcase School, Clark Creek will have access to additional Microsoft resources and support and the opportunity to share innovative best practices with other top schools.

Principal Joey Moss and her leadership team will be recognized for their roles in achieving this honor by the Cherokee County School Board and Dr. Hightower at the School Board’s September meeting.

Holly Springs ES STEM Academy during the 2014-15 school year became the first whole school ever to be Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) certified, and the following year was selected for the Showcase and has continued to be recognized as such.
