Board Business Briefs: School Board Hears of Potential State Funding Concerns BOE Meeting Oct. 15 2020 (1)

The Cherokee County School Board on Thursday heard an update on potential State funding concerns for next school year.
 
During its pre-meeting work session, School Board members began the planning work for its annual Legislative Partnership Priorities, a list of top issues it would like to see addressed by Cherokee County’s State legislators during the General Assembly Session.  The report typically is shared by the School Board with the Delegation at a meeting in early December prior to the legislative session’s start in January.

10/5/2020 CCSD Message: School Operations Update CCSD_Identity_horizontal_CMYK

On behalf of the Superintendent, please be advised of several important decisions in regard to CCSD school operations:

  • HYBRID MODEL: The three high schools currently operating on a hybrid model – Creekview, Etowah and Woodstock High Schools – all will resume traditional in-person instruction (five days a week) beginning Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020 (Monday, Oct. 12, is a scheduled school holiday for all students/professional development day for teachers and staff).  This decision does not affect students currently enrolled in Digital Learning.

CCSD Recognizes 2020 Partner of the Year CCSD 2020 POTY 2 9 21 20

The Cherokee County School District is celebrating outstanding school community partners through its Seventh Annual CCSD Partner of the Year awards!

Through the annual program, every CCSD school selects a Partner of the Year to honor.  From that pool of outstanding partners, a committee of retired educators and community leaders selects an overall CCSD 2020 Partner of the Year.

Basketball and Cheerleading Tryouts

7th and 8th  Grade ET Booth Parents and Students,

 

ET Booth Basketball and Cheerleading programs will be holding tryouts for the upcoming season after September Break beginning on the dates listed below.  While we do not yet have our schedule set, we do expect it to be an abbreviated version of previous seasons.  We are still excited to be able to offer this experience for our students. We will have to limit in person game attendance and will provide additional information on what that will look like as we approach our first game.  The first game should be held during the of week of November 9th .

 

Basketball/Cheerleader Tryouts:

 

7th and 8th Grade  Cheer: September 28 (Tryouts have concluded)

 

7th and 8th Grade Basketball: October 19 - 23 Tryout Schedule and Forms

 

There are 5 forms (listed below) that need to be filled out and turned in before tryouts.  These forms will be posted on the ET Booth Athletics web page.
