Etowah HS & Woodstock HS Working Together

Posted On: Tuesday, October 2, 2018

Dear Eagles,

As we all know, this upcoming week is Etowah vs Woodstock week for the annual rivalry game. One of the great experiences in high school is the fun that rivalry games bring to both communities. We want this rivalry to continue to be a fun but healthy event. We wanted to pass on some important information as it relates to the upcoming game.

Both schools and communities work together throughout the week to raise money for the St. Jude’s Hospital. We combine the funds from both schools for the donation. We announce and celebrate this donation before kickoff. If you are interested in donating to this cause, please send the donation through your student or come by the school. You are welcome to contact us with any questions relating to the donation process.

Woodstock has offered our students and fans the opportunity to tailgate in the parking areas that are directly in front of their school. The parking area next to their stadium is reserved for their tailgaters and they will not allow Etowah students and fans to tailgate in that area.

The single entrance into Woodstock High School can make for a slow entrance and exit for the game. We are encouraging people to carpool and arrive early to help ease the congestion into and out of the school. The stadium will be set up to keep the two sides separated. There will be two ticket gates. The first one will be between the visitor side and the field house for visitors to buy tickets and enter. There will also be  a ticket gate at the front of the stadium but please be aware you need to be in the visitor ticket line which will be to the right. Once a person buys a ticket and enters the game, they will be limited to the side of the stadium they purchase a ticket on. Please make sure you come in one of the gates described above to be on the Visitors (Etowah) side.

We encourage and expect all of our fans to display great sportsmanship at all events, especially when it involves our neighbors.

We hope everyone comes out to the game to support our Eagles!

Robert Horn, Principal
