On behalf of the Superintendent, this message is to update you to the fact that the number of COVID-19 cases in both Cherokee County and across the country is on the rise, and what happens outside of our schools impacts what happens inside our schools and our ability to keep schools open.  

CCSD Graduation Rate Hits New High! CCSD Grad Rate 2020

The Cherokee County School District’s graduation rate has hit a new high, topping 90% for the first time in recent years with 90.3% of the Class of 2020 earning a diploma within four years of entering high school.  

The CCSD graduation rate is an increase from 86.9% achieved by the Class of 2019, according to a new report from the Georgia Department of Education released today.  All six CCSD high schools reported higher grad rates for the Class of 2020, with Creekview HS reporting the top rate of 96.2%.

CCSD Announces Annual Child Find Efforts CCSD heart logo cmyk

What is Child Find?
The purpose of Child Find is to identify, locate, and evaluate children and youth, who are suspected of having or have a diagnosed disability or developmental delay, in order to provide free appropriate Special Education services.  The Cherokee County School District serves children from three years through 21 years of age.

CCSD Schools Earn $10K in "Bright Ideas" Grants CCSD Amicalola Grants 10 26 20

Cherokee County School District schools have earned more than $10,000 in this fall’s Bright Ideas Grants!

The competitive Bright Ideas Grants are awarded by Amicalola EMC to the most innovative ideas from schools in their service area.  Fifteen CCSD projects won a total of $10,841 in this season’s cycle of funding, which was presented to recipients this month.

Congratulations to Michael Scheetz in Mrs. King's 4th grade class as CCSD's Student of the Day!  Michael is a kind and caring young man. He is the big brother every kid wants to have.  His favorite subject is art.  He loves to play video games and baseball.  Congratulations Michael!  Hasty is so proud of you!
