Mission: School gardens provide a vast opportunity for educational growth of students.  Gardening connects curriculum standards to student learning.  It also provides physical movement and instills healthy lifestyle for students as well as staff members.  School gardens also provide the opportunity for the use of technology from not just researching different types of plants but provides students the opportunity to make QR codes to short movies on the growth of plants.  Finally, school gardens provide social skills opportunity for students that make have some social skills deficits.  They get excited and take pride in planting plants, watching them grow, and taking care of it.  Students then can share about their experience with one another.

Activities: plant seeds, grow plants, tend to the garden, learn about garden ecosystems such as native plants and local pollinators, guest speakers on different gardening topics, taste testing of locally grown
