Membership Requirements: 4th-5th Grade; Parent Permission; Limited to 36 students
Meeting Schedule: 2nd Thursday each month (Beginning in October)
Mission: Science Olympiad is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing male, female and minority interest in science, creating a technologically-literate workforce and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers.
Activities: Application will be given out in November. At each meeting, the students will participate in a hands-on lab activity similar to the Science Olympiad Events. Examples of some of the activities are: Metric Measurement,Egg Drop, Penny Barge, Experimental Design, Mystery Architecture, Write It – Do It, Mystery Powders, Crime Busters, and Bottle Rockets.
