On behalf of the Superintendent, this message is to update you to the fact that the number of COVID-19 cases in both Cherokee County and across the country is on the rise, and what happens outside of our schools impacts what happens inside our schools and our ability to keep schools open.  

CCSD Students Test New Minecraft World Little River ES Minecraft 4 11 16 2020

Little River Elementary School fourth-graders in teacher Samantha Westerlind’s class had the amazing opportunity to beta test the Minecraft: Education Edition lesson for the Hour of Code 2020, “A Tale of Two Villages.”  In this lesson, students learn how to use basic coding concepts to bring two villages together, while applying essential 21st century skills like problem solving and critical thinking.  

CCSD Graduation Rate Hits New High! CCSD Grad Rate 2020

The Cherokee County School District’s graduation rate has hit a new high, topping 90% for the first time in recent years with 90.3% of the Class of 2020 earning a diploma within four years of entering high school.  

The CCSD graduation rate is an increase from 86.9% achieved by the Class of 2019, according to a new report from the Georgia Department of Education released today.  All six CCSD high schools reported higher grad rates for the Class of 2020, with Creekview HS reporting the top rate of 96.2%.

What is Child Find?
The purpose of Child Find is to identify, locate, and evaluate children and youth, who are suspected of having or have a diagnosed disability or developmental delay, in order to provide free appropriate Special Education services.  The Cherokee County School District serves children from three years through 21 years of age.
