2021 Education SPLOST Renewal Information

Cherokee County’s 1-percent Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (Ed SPLOST) shows what a penny can do when invested by a community into the success of its schools!

Early Voting is underway for the countywide election to consider the renewal of the existing Education SPLOST.  More info on voting is at the Cherokee County Board of Elections website at  More info on the projects to be funded by the Ed SPLOST renewal is at  If the renewal doesn’t pass, there will be an automatic 25% increase in property taxes to continue paying off the bond debt “mortgage” … and all planned capital projects (construction, renovations, technology purchases, school bus purchases) would halt, while also creating new and additional constraints on the general fund portion of the budget, which is utilized to fund local longevity step increases.

Congratulations to the softball team for making the state playoffs.  The first round of the playoffs they played South Paulding beating them 2-1 and 7-1.  They have advanced to the Sweet Sixteen where they will take on Lee County in Leesburg on Tuesday 10/19 and Wednesday 10/20.
