Dr. Brian Hightower
As Superintendent of Schools for the award-winning Cherokee County School District since February 2016, Dr. Brian V. Hightower takes great pride in leading its 42,000 students and 5,000 employees in “Educating the Emerging Generation.” Recent appointments for Dr. Hightower include State Superintendent Richard Wood’s Superintendent Advisory Council (2018), Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s Superintendents Advisory Council (2021), and Cognia's GA Superintendent Advisory Board (2022). He was also named for the sixth straight year in 2022 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s as a “Who’s Who” in Education and honored in 2022 by the Georgia School Superintendent’s Association with the President’s Award for his service to children.
Also, during the 2022-23 school year, Dr. Hightower will continue to serve as the Board Chair for the North Georgia RESA, immediate past Chair of the Georgia Education Coalition and as a National Research Fellow with the Educational Research and Design Institute, Finally, he remains as a charter member of Leadership Circle, a national coalition of Superintendents dedicated to growing educational leaders and addressing some of the most important issues facing public education today.
